A capture in From Only Now is a note, photo, video, or audio clip that only makes sense in a location. You do not post “to the internet.” You leave something on a street, a plaza, a shop doorway — and you say when it should be visible: the past, right now, or a future slot.
Past is a real archive
Past starts in 2016 and runs through yesterday. If you pick a year, you are asking the map for that calendar window, not “everything old.” That is how a neighbourhood can keep a memory without turning the present tab into a museum.
Now is today
Now is a rolling day, not the whole year. If you are standing in a place at 16:00, you should see what is live for this date — not a capture dated next November, and not every post from January. Custom date ranges do not belong on Now; they would pretend a 24-hour window is a holiday you type in.
Future is a promise at a coordinate
Future captures can wait for a start time. Until then, strangers should not open them. The person who wrote them can still preview. When the clock catches up, the same radius rule applies: you have to be there.
